Return Order with Issue Order Reference
When the Return Order is referenced to an Issue Order, an item may not be added to the Return Order if it is not part of the referenced Issue Order or if it exceeds the issued quantity. A customer return may be referenced to a previous issue order for this customer by selecting the Issue Order in the Reference Number field. To reference an Issue Order to a Return Order, please follow the steps below.
- Select Stock > Return from the navigation pane. The Return page appears.
- Order Number field: If the division has Return Order auto numbering enabled, an order number is automatically entered in the Order Number field. If Return Order Auto-Numbering is not enabled, enter an order number in this field.
- Customer field: Select the return customer from the Customer field drop-down list.
- The Reference Number field drop-down list will then become populated with the Issue order numbers for stock issue orders for this customer.
- Next, select the Issue Order that you want to reference for this stock return.
- To clear a Reference Number, select the Clear icon in the Reference Number field.
- If the return order contains any return transactions a message appears to notify you that by clearing the Reference Number your existing return transactions will be removed. To close the message, clear the reference number, and clear the return transactions from the order, press OK. If you do not want to clear the Reference Number, select Cancel to close the message and return to the Return Order.
- When you select an Issue Order to reference this Return order to, you may only enter an item from the Issue Order to this Return Order. Additionally, the Return quantity may not exceed the Issue quantity.
- Add the item for return to the Return Order. When you reference an Issue Order, any item that is not included in the referenced Issue Order may not be added to the Return Order. A prompt appears to notify you that this item was not issued in the referenced Issue Order.
- When an item is added that was part of the referenced Issue Order, the Returned Qty cannot exceed the Issued Qty. If you enter a Return Qty that exceeds the quantity issued for this item in the referenced Issue Order, a prompt appears to notify you of this; you may not add this item to the order until the quantity is adjusted.
- Serial Number Item: if a serialized item was part of the referenced Issue Order, the serialized item added to this Return Order must be the same serialized item that was part of the referenced Issue Order. If a serialized item is added that was not part of the referenced Issue Order, a prompt appears to notify the user and this serialized item cannot be added to the Return Order.
- Lot Item: if a lot item was part of the referenced Issue Order, the lot item added to this Return Order must contain the same lot that was part of the referenced Issue Order. If a lot item is added that was not part of the referenced Issue Order, a prompt appears to notify the user and this lot item cannot be added to the Return Order.
- Expiration Date Item: if an expiration date item was part of the referenced Issue Order, the expiration date item added to this Return Order must have the same expiration date that was part of the referenced Issue Order. If an expiration date item is added that was not part of the referenced Issue Order, a prompt appears to notify the user and this expiration date item cannot be added to the Return Order.
